Get Rid of the Extra Weight....

1/24/2021

Do you remember those old open face fishing reels? It took quite some talent to know just where to put your thumb and just how much pressure to put on the reel when casting and when to apply more force or lessen up the force.

Or you learn the other technique of holding it upside down and spaced between your fingers depending on the type.  Then there is the “Anti-Reverse” locking handle and the drag… put a little friction on the line. (Brakes) Either way, it took time and effort to master the skill.

Most of the time, when we cast, it just goes all over and everywhere. If you don’t get it just right, what you are left with is a large ball of useless twine called a “bird nest”.

You attempt to fix it, pull out the tangle. You pull on it, and it just gets worse. It tightens up it’s grip. It just entangles everything and gets larger and larger. (Negativity)

The easiest thing is to just clip the line, search for the other end of the tangle and clip it out. Deal with it properly or it will entangle you too.

Don’t excuse it, just clip it out and dispose of the tangle.

Life is the same. We tend to tangle things up and the more we struggle, the more we get entangle ourselves. We forget about the techniques we’ve learned and the brakes or the early warning signals of an impending tangle.

Sometimes we have to simply rid ourselves of the extra weight. “…throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles….” Hebrews 12

And then we have to plant our self in good soil. Instead of staying planted in good soil, we tend to allow ourselves to be around people and environments that pollute our bodies and our minds.

Those that insist on remaining in the wrong environment consequently never end up reaching their full potential in their lives, careers or relationships.

How do you stay planted in good soil? Endure - You need to stay in the right soil long enough to bear the fruit you are designed and destined to bear. Persevere!

Flourish independent of your circumstances.

The same goes for your training. The more blunder we create, the larger the bird nest and the tighter the entanglement becomes.  Keep it simple, practice and polish often. Remember to flourish in the right environments without negativity.
