Welcome in 2021

God is a God of new beginnings!

I heard a message recently that stated if you take a step back from your at hand task, slow down and take a look at the design.... He knows no time. Time was made for man.

Each day starts with an opportunity to start over from yesterday.

Each week, is an opportunity to start over from the previous week.

Each month is an opportunity to start over from the month before.

And yes each year..., offers us yet another opportunity to restart our life, direction, influence change in how we make choices, give away some forgiveness and build new trust.

We have to use the platforms we have to make a difference. Even in the midst of a Pandemic.

Do not stop doing good.

Happy New Year

Tis The Season

Crime is up this time of year, every year.

Take a sensible approach.

Home Safety is the first place you should put focus on.
Lock you vehicle when unattended, even at home.
Keep outdoor lights on.
Keep your doors locked, yes to the deadbolt.
Keep your drapes pulled together, it may not be the HOA Award Committee watching your house & stuff you’re putting under your tree.
Keep your home defense firearm close by and handy and at the ready. If you are in possession of a carry handgun, carry it. Yes, even at home.
Hearing a knock or the doorbell usually makes people anxious and children nuts to see who is bringing the next gift and for who. Make sure it is the delivery guy or a visitor who is actually welcome. Use your lights and peepholes for the reason they were designed. In other words, use them.

When traveling to Grandmas, Situational Awareness is key. Crime is Random, so your #1 Best defense is your level of Awareness.
When stopping at quick stops or rest areas, be aware of the comings and goings of others. Especially the ones who do not seem to be coming or going, but lingering around watching….
Don’t let your gadgets prevent you from being observant. As great as technology is, it is also a major distraction these days. Look up and around occasionally, it may be your life you’re saving.

Shopping isn’t much better. Pre-teens and teens often want to “go on their own” upon arriving at a shopping mall or other large shopping venue. Make sure you have a designated time and place to reunite after a shopping spree. Even in the case of some emergency, a predetermined rally point may offer you and your family members just the edge you need to evade and escape some sort of attack, fire or other emergency.

Know where all the exits are, you never know when you may have to use one.

Don’t lock presents in your vehicle while you shop, visible to whomever may be window shopping.

Lock you vehicle when unattended, even at home.

These few suggestions and some common sense will keep you and your family safe. For more, sign up for one of our classes under the Crime Prevention Series. Refuse to be A Victim, Violence is Real or Personal Self Defense. We also have Home Invasion and Home Safety classes available.

It doesn't matter where you train, just train.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Survival Staff

Holiday Outreach - Veterans Foundations and Charitable Organizations

If you cannot give money, donate your time. Invest in someone who has given their all!

A lot of vets in crisis mode will not willingly reach out on their own. They simply aren’t in a state of mind to want the help or even realize they need the help and will not voluntarily reach out to these organizations on their own. Those of us not in crisis mode can be the ones reaching out to them.

Connect the dots so to speak.

You know a vet and you know an organization, make the connection for them. Drive them, go with them, or develop the network for them.

Most of us know a vet and some that are in need, but often we have to be willing to take that step for them because many times, the Vet feels like there is no help and feels quite abandoned by the system they so faithfully served. They are also filled with pride and sometimes pride hinders them from reaching out. They are so used to relying only on a trusted few and being invincible.

If you do not know a vet, look around, ask others or volunteer at the VA to find someone to invest in. Often you will find a vet in need.

Many Vets can connect with each other through an activity or event if someone will just reach out to them. They need the camaraderie and it is one of the best ways to communicate with them. When I meet a fellow Vet, I perk up a little and my chest fills because finally here is someone who knows and speaks my language, someone who has been there and understands me.

Imagine being in a foreign country where no one speaks your language of origin. We have all been there…. think again of how it makes you feel when you finally hear someone in the distance speaking your native tongue.

Many of those who served and retirees alike have companies, services and nonprofit organizations that could greatly benefit from the donation of your time.

By taking this step, you gain trust and a huge network and can make a huge impact simply by spending a little time. When you work with these companies and organizations, you are able to put the people in touch with the available help.

WOW, What an experiment!

Wow, What an experiment.!

244 years ago this 4th of July 2020, a group of delegates declared that the colonies in North America to be an independent nation, no longer a colony of England. And a few years later, a Nation was born and accepted after the liberation.

It did not happen right away or just because they said it. It was because they believed in a common something. They took a look back at history from the beginning and wrote down all the good things and right things that would progress the human race in freedom and liberty.

A little known fact; The average constitution everywhere in the world only last an average of 17 years.

Many people have never been outside their country. Many have never left the state or even the county they live in. But again, many have… I traveled the world during my military service and the vast majority of the people I have met are not always fans of the “Americans” (People) but they are all fans of what the United States represent and what it stands for.

Even in hostile regions, the people are just people. They are trying to live in peace and simply provide for their families. The radicals are always represented by a very small percentage of the overall population. Yes at times, we see enormous numbers of people chanting and demonstrating against the US and her actions but this is usually following an outrage of sorts. Yes, we do bad things too. Mostly in the name of good and a better final outcome, but still the general populace is subject to the propaganda they are given so sides are drawn.

More people are trying to get in than are willing to get out. On the world view, this says something. It’s not just capitalism because we all have a heart problem when it comes to “more” and “selfishness”. No, it is more than that. I challenge each of you to think about that. Like a moth to a flame, throughout our brief history people have been and are still trying to get in, but why? We have so many problems and issues and difference of opinions that divide us.

H.G. Wells – author of “the shape of things to come” was quoted in 1895 in another of his books as stating “Our true nationality is mankind’, his foregone conclusion that people should love the nation in which they reside. Anonymous comment: “Great short story about the senseless maliciousness of man and his desire to destroy all that he feels threatened by.”

What has happened is that we have gotten away from the love of our original purpose and the basic fundamentals of what made us a people leading to the formation of a nation. This has happened just in the past 70 years out of 244 years of existence. There are a lot of reasons for this but mostly it is a heart issue.

Humankind historically has had a soft spot for being part of a greater purpose, something that brings value to life. Something bigger than us, larger than life itself...

The foundation of our government was exactly that spirit.

John Quincy Adams in 1837 asked participants at a 4th of July celebration where he was asked to speak  “why are you assembled?”

If you zoom out and look at the entire 244 years, we as well as the human race has progressed. We should not focus on one small point in time or what I am going through today, but what we have done and accomplished as a people. Have we advanced the human experiment? I say yes.

In 1970 Billy Graham gave a publicized speech / sermon Celebrating our Freedoms. Often called the Ambassador of God to the American Nation he had this to say… “We are Free only until we are not free” “This country has been given privileges and responsibilities that no other Nation has in all of history.”

The experiment is still working. Freedom is not the right to what we want but what we should and without fear. We have a responsibility to live in a way to preserve this Nation for our future according to the founding fathers and the Christian Values and Morales that has and continues to make us great…

So how should we as a people celebrate the 4th of July? By “Solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty” John Adams

FIRST SITTING PRESIDENT VISITS THE WESTERN WALL

So, while rejoycing that we finally have a President bold enough to pronounce a Christian faith, we have been advised that a French company has deemed this information as "Unauthorized Use" and is seeking payment and or justice.

The fact that the intent was to share news and information with no possible means of monitary gain is of no value in the situation and that our Praise of this Administration announcing that God is supreme must not be infringed upon others.
